2 years is a long time. Driver issues are few and far between these days. Multi monitor support has greatly improved as well. I can’t help you with your software requirements if you’re stuck using proprietary programs like Photoshop. I can tell you that as a professional graphic designer and illustrator the alternatives to “industry standard” software are powerful and arguably better (Inkscape) on the Linux side. It does take time and effort to retrain years of shortcuts and workflow experience, but it’s definitely doable.
Maybe one day when you’re feeling adventurous give Linux another shot. I know for a lot of people the ethics of open source vs closed aren’t really important, but it’s still fun to see what else is out there.
I’m not sure I understand the question. Pipewire is the audio server, replacing Pulse. It does have frontends that allow routing from different devices, channels, software etc and distributions that are using Pipewire now have interface elements that allow you to control application use of audio devices. I’m not sure I answered your question at all lol.
Ah I see. Pipewire has made audio production a lot easier with far fewer latency issues. I know the FL Studio crowd is pretty diehard, but if you’re ever feeling adventurous there’s a lot more in the audio space now. I personally use Reaper to record my guitar through my Audient interface and have no issues. I’m not much of a beats and loops guy though so YMMV.
I used to have a theory that ghosts weren’t spirits of the dead, but a momentary overlap of realities on loop at a certain place and what was seen was a glimpse of that reality. This only works of time is a singular experience happening all at once. I am not smart.
What can’t you do on Linux that keeps you on Windows or Mac?
Not caring is why these corporations have the power they do.
Those of you that received the text does that mean y’all are registered Republicans?
I always find it odd that posts like this get any downvotes at all. Like, are people really that in love with Windows and or Microsoft?
Planned obsolescence to a degree. If you spend $1k a year on a new phone the C suite makes happy faces, but of you spend $1k every few years the C suite makes sad faces. What better way to keep them happy by stopping support for a device.
Did the child die?
My father, a Vietnam vet, has been 100% service connected disabled since 1996 for hearing loss in one ear attributed to his position as a gunner on a tank. He isn’t deaf and has played in country bands for most of his life. I once researched the amounts he’d receive from 1996 to now with near yearly increases. A man that bought his home and paid for it for at $600 in 1974 has received nearly a million dollars since 96.
Even the top image sucks.
You get it. Apple fans, which by the way I think it’s stupid to be a fan of a product/company, can’t admit that the devices they buy and the company that makes them have flaws. They view the marketing as objective truths when the objective truth is Apple is first and foremost a very profitable company and those profits matter above everything else. They aren’t a “good” company and will follow the path that leads them to profits. Taking a single chip and making 30 devices that all do different things is proof of that.
Alright then.
I’m not treating you like a dumbass, Apple is.
I think it’s hilarious that people will buy an iPhone, iPad and Macbook and not realize the only thing that’s different about them is the software. Any restriction is manufactured.
edit: apparently I’ve upset some Apple users. I apologize. My point was that the features each class of device has is manufactured to ensure you buy 3 products instead of 1 while the hardware inside is essentially the same. Like restricting touch and pen support isn’t about hardware limitations; it’s about getting you to spend. If you’re happy with a company that does that you, then hey you do you, but don’t get upset when that fact is pointed out.
What a weird hill to die on.
No I agree with who is problematic. My comment was in reference to the solution being both forced on to women and under the assumption that courtship (sex) is the only way to reach those men.
I’m not an apologist, but when people are, from birth mind you, molded and made to be a certain way how are they supposed to behave? When they do reach an age where they have some beginnings of autonomy and critical thinking skills what happens? Phase 2 begins in the form of rightwing bullshittery. Couple all that with no sense of identity or value and you’ve got a recipe for destruction. Very few men can break free from all that. They’re, we’re, victims and villains.
