More than that, it causes a knee jerk reaction from many liberals as well, and they end up defending a practice that is relevant to about 1% of voters, and isn’t that important to a very significant number of voters. So Ds waste a LOT of time defending a subject that isn’t very important to most people, instead of the issues they should be focused on, which will attract voters, like Medicare 4 All, or Student Loan Reform, etc.
