No, that would be the y-axis. The z-axis moves off the 2D plane from the center of the line as if it’s moving toward the “camera lens” that took the photo.

Good ole z-axis to the rescue!
A bit ironic that, in order to prove my humanity, I’m required to select every part of a picture identifying something completely and utterly inhuman. It does, however, serve as an outstanding reminder of what never to be.
A person can be criticized for something by both good and bad people, it’s the worldview that makes the person. Also, he’s getting so much shit on shitter that, valid though your criticism is, he’s not likely to even know you told him, let alone care. Do it here, where nearly all of us understand and likely agree.
Fame and fortune do not automatically grant a person good judgment. In fact, one could effectively argue that obtaining the former two frequently and demonstrably decreases whatever amount of the latter one may have had.

The article does briefly mention the cells achieving ~33% @ ~167° F, and does mention (what seems to be tangential) technologies that allow for cells to be nailed down as if they were shingles.
My guess is that it isn’t that they finally using techniques that seem obvious to us, but that they’ve developed supporting tech to mitigate the detrimental effects of using magnification.

I’m sure he helped out a bit with the softer areas, too.
It’s just a fun descriptor, and no, it has no impact on the intelligence of any of the bags involved.
Consider a bag. Now fill that bag with nothing but wet bags. That bag of wet bags is a rocket surgeon compared to any given republican.

That’s what republicans do. They’re dumber than a bag of wet bags.
Psychotic rightist Nazi ghouls calling the left “beyond deranged” is completely on brand with their abject mental degeneracy.
They cheer and shrug their shoulders when blue states suffer, but get violently ass damaged when they receive the same treatment when nature suddenly decides to show them that their god is useless.
Thoughts and prayers, Lone Star State. Now put those bootstraps to use, and pull for all it’s worth.
Damn, that design does go fucking hard, indeed.

I suspect there’s going to be so much rampant hopium and copium use going on in the camp of the fascists that the entire DEA is going wind up being restructured for the sole purpose of handing it.
