The cycling infrastructure in Switzerland is good, but the Netherlands are on a whole different level.
The video is ok, but contains incorrect information. Fines aren’t scaled by income, they’re fixed. Only for major infractions that go before a court of law is the penalty scaled.
Also, there is a shot from Bern saying “look people don’t cycle when it’s unsafe” but what is being shown is the roundabout of the motorway exit Ostring. No one cycles around that as there is no point. Cyclists would bypass that ugly sin from the 1970s.
It’s also funny to hear Basel being called a small city, in Switzerland it’s considered one of the biggest, like Genève, Zürich, Bern, Lausanne.
You all need to visit the Netherlands.
You can’t learn C++. Some parts of it maybe.
Not true. They use the same model, executing compiled bytecode. It just feels like directly running a script because Python compiles it to bytecode on the fly, and because it is embarrassingly slow.
C++ is a monster. I’d suggest C instead to learn about these basic ideas.
Many people increasingly find that using functional patterns enables them to build more reliable software.
Kotlin is now the language of choice for Android.
Oh right. My mistake. I guess when it comes to art then anything that isn’t obviously a child is technically legal, if distasteful and morally more than questionable. At least that is the legal situation in most countries.
My objective is the minimisation of harm. If someone uses artwork and that means that they will never touch an underage person then that is a good thing even though I may not like it.
Adults. Where I am from the word adult only has one meaning. An adult is a person of 18 years of age at the very least.
You said “mature looking” for which a 16 year old person might qualify depending on the exact interpretation which is not ok. It doesn’t matter what they look like, it matters whether they are an adult or not. Going for looks reminds me of creeps going “he/she is so mature for his/her age”. That is not ok.
Try putting the 6 pack in the cellar or attic and only one in the fridge. That way you only see the one. After having drank that one it will annoy you to climb stairs to get another room temperature one so you won’t.
You might also consider seeking professional help. You aren’t an alcoholic, but you will be if you keep this up. Alcohol is a terrible drug and one of the worst possible addictions to have. It’s like heroin, but worse because unlike heroin it’s available everywhere all the time, so staying sober is so much harder.
In my country there is a supermarket chain that doesn’t sell alcohol at all (nor cigarettes). If you have something like that then maybe go shopping there to reduce the temptation.
Or how about just adults.
The town I grew up in has approx. 4000 inhabitants. It is served by a railway station with 4 trains per hour (one per direction every 30min), all day, from 05:00 to 24:00. On top of that it has four bus lines with frequencies between 30 and 10 minutes. It lies next to a medium sized (for Switzerland) city of 55k inhabitants, which has much much more public transport, like 20+ trains an hour in 6 directions and dozens of bus lines.
Just for comparison.
A 55k community in the USA would probably be considered a very small town, I guess. Not worthy of even a single railway line.
