Needs Colorado on there somewhere too. That place is a blue oasis surrounded by a sea of red bullshit states on all sides.

neukenindekeuken@sh.itjust.worksto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•*Permanently Deleted*143·11 days agoNope. Even at 30 though, there will be a generational gap between the two of you. That’s 21 years, and a full adult lifetime of experience.
With that said, some women are extremely mature and if your daughter thinks it’s a good idea, there’s probably no harm in trying it out. She’s probably worried about you and wants to see you happy, and this is her way of solving that problem.
Take her up on her offer and have a good time on your date. Spend some time getting to know her like you would anyone on a date. Again, understand that even though you’re both fully grown adults, there’s going to still be a lot that you’re not going to connect with each other on.
For example, Pokemon. You’re not going to give a shit about Pokemon, but she grew up in the hayday of it and Harry Potter and a lot of other generational things that you’re either going to need to get on board with so you can have a connection with her or it will create a rift between you eventually.
neukenindekeuken@sh.itjust.worksto Technology@lemmy.world•X/Twitter Pause Encrypted DMs.English91·12 days ago100%. If it was purely a migration, it wouldn’t need to have downtime. There’s ways to replay events and eventually catch a system up (eventual consistency models).
This feels more like they’re adding backdoor into their encryption algorithms for government agencies.
Given who musk is, and what he’s done the last year and who he’s hanging out with in this admin, that’s a near sure thing.

This is how that works.
neukenindekeuken@sh.itjust.worksto Fuck Cars@lemmy.world•My neighbors GMC Denali parked illegally in front of a stop sign and crosswalk, next to my other neighbors Mazda MiataEnglish401·14 days agoI think you’re allowed to make a bunch of assumptions about the Denali owner here. That’s kinda what they did all that for in the first place.
They’re clearly being a dick with nothing more than a parking job, so it’s far more likely they are actually dicks IRL and noticed the same thing on the miata and chose to be dicks about it.
Sometimes, the other person being an intolerable, selfish, bigoted asshole, is exactly the thing we can and should assume about people in certain situations. Situations like this one.

neukenindekeuken@sh.itjust.worksto Technology@lemmy.world•Anthropic's Claude 4 could "blackmail" you in extreme situationsEnglish1·19 days agoHere’s the relevant section from the paper:
(It’s worth the read. Pretty much pure gold.)
What nobody seems to explain is, why are they allowing the model to do blackmail in the first place? Even in extreme situational “danger” to its self-preservation, we should probably take blackmail off the table, ethically. Yet, they’re implying they’ve intentionally left it in as an option, if it decides.
Morally though, we can’t trust it to do arithmetic or not talk about “white genocide in SA” thanks to muskrat. Why should we trust its moral model/choices for when to decide to employ unethical and illegal approaches to solutions?
Add to that she’s actually a transplant from Florida, and it starts to make sense.
