9·9 days agoAs a volunteer firefighter, I stepped over a hose in the dark and fell into a drainage ditch. Tore the ligaments in my ankle and chipped the bone.
Inertia, at least in some cases. It takes a lot of work to rebuild your audience. Leaving is accelerating, though, albeit slowly.
Ever ask a question on SO? I tell my students to search there but never, ever ask a question. The unmitigated hostility is not what new developers need or deserve. ChatGPT won’t humiliate you for asking a question that someone else has already asked.
They’ll have jobs right up to the introduction of the next gen AI.
