It’s my opinion that it’s fake in an attempt for Elon to recover Tesla from its death spiral.

Every Tesla sold is worth over $100k in stock value to Elon because of the PE multiplier on TSLA. He’ll be back to sieg heiling as soon as he gets profits back on track.

I don’t know man… who’s left to buy a Tesla at this point? MAGA people aren’t gonna do it after Elon attacked their god-emperor, and it’s not like liberals are just gonna forget the last several years of his ketamine-fueled fuckery.

The jig is up. There’s no one left who wants to support this clown.

I’ll be sad if we end up losing the EV tax credit though; seemed like that was already on the chopping block anyway though…

People have horrible memories. It’s how Trump got re elected despite how bad he was in 2016.

Musk will pretend to hate Trump and in 2 years everyone will go back to buying Teslas. Then Musk will fund Right Wing politicians for the next election.

It was my impression that what’s been holding Tesla in a euphoric state the last few months has been the implication that the company is government-insured like a bank in 2008. If Tesla loses that, or people believe that Tesla has lost that, then what do they have left? Lost tax credits, a disastrous product release in the Cybertruck, a hamstrung domestic demand and cratered international demand, issues with raw material supply, behind the scenes signs of cashflow issues, all in a company that has been insanely overvalued by investors for the past 5-10 years.

I believe in charades, but I also believe that charades can be miscalculated and collapse due to poor management.

The worst part is wasted opportunity. You had 5 years on the rest of the US EV market and a perception of having at least the best charging infrastructure. Valuable assets.

You spent 10 of those five years on a wankpanzer, FSD (Full Speed Direct-into-pedestrians), and a lorry nobody’s seen, when you should have focusing for the day you’re competing with the Electric Civic and Escalade coming down the pike.

What you should have done, while you had the tyrant’s ear, was to pull a Dodge Colt/Geo Metro. Precision-craft some legal shell game setup that lets you import competent EVs and sell them as a “domestic brand” to bypass the residual “I don’t want a Chinese car” attitudes and some tarriffs. Then you’d at least have a stream of desirable products goung forward instead of the current quirky-but-not-in-a-fun-way Tesla range.

Investor? He’s one of the founders and the one who came up with the name(he’s obsessed with Lord of the Rings, other companies of his include Lembas, Mithril, Rivendell, Arda, etc.)

Payback for the “English disease” in Dutch (and probably German) where people are writing nouns with random spaces in between
